Howdy. I’m Ms. Kissel. Unless you’re lost in the interwebs, I’m probably your physics teacher. I’ve been teaching at BHS since 1998, which is before you were born! I live on my asteroid, and I commute all the way to Brookline each day.
If I’m not teaching physics or harassing my cat, there’s a good chance that you’ll find me applying the concepts of friction, normal force, and tension to my favorite activities, rock climbing and yoga. Or I might be biking around the city or taking photos somewhere. I also do a lot of cooking (and eating).
I recently was awarded a Fulbright grant to do educational research in Finland. I’ll be taking a leave of absence from February 1 – June 1, 2015 and will be observing classes, meeting with teachers and students, and working with faculty at the University of Helsinki as I research how Finnish science teachers support special education students.
